Sweetest Batch
The online shop for Sweetest Batch, an Auckland bakery, built on Astro and Stripe instead of Shopify.
What was supposed to be a quick Stripe integration took a couple of months, and was worth it. The story is in the note Sweetest Batch goes e-commerce.
What went into it
- Astro with Stripe checkout, server-rendered on Cloudflare Workers
- Sanity as the product catalogue, synced with Stripe
- Google Merchant Center, Search Console, product metadata and sitemaps
- Order emails through Mailgun, and NZ Post shipping and labels
- Groundwork for AI shopping agents: an LLM-friendly FAQ,
